Exhibition: Pat Brassington: À Rebours
Eye-catching works demand attention at the exhibition of leading Tasmanian photo-based artist Pat Brassington.
Curated by Juliana Engberg, Artistic Director of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, the exhibition is an overview of Brassington’s exceptional 30 year career. Held in high regard as an artist that recognised the potential of the digital format, Brassington has pushed the boundaries of photography in her hauntingly beautiful images. Works that challenge the viewer, the exhibition draws the viewer into a deeply psychological and sometimes dark conversation. An artist who went against the grain, this exhibition shows an insight into Brassington’s life and practice.
